Parvela is fully committed to protecting your privacy. This policy transparently explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and how we keep it secure.

Data We Collect

When you use Parvela, we collect several categories of data:

Data you provide directly:

  • Full name, date of birth, gender
  • Phone number and/or email address
  • Profile photos and face verification video
  • Bio, occupation, education, hobbies, and partner preferences
  • City/district location (not continuous real-time GPS)
  • Messages you send to other users through the chat feature

Data collected automatically:

  • Device information (model, operating system, app version)
  • IP address and network data
  • Activity logs (login time, swipe sessions, like/pass actions)
  • Push notification token
  • App performance analytics data

Data from third parties:

  • If you choose to log in via Apple or Google, we receive your name and email from the respective provider
  • Identity verification results (liveness score and face match, not the original video)

How We Use Your Data

Your data is used for the following purposes:

  • Providing services: creating accounts, displaying profiles, matching users, and enabling chat between matched users.
  • Identity verification: ensuring every account is a real person through face verification to maintain community safety.
  • Personalization: displaying relevant profiles based on your preferences, location, and usage behavior.
  • Notifications: sending alerts regarding new matches, incoming messages, or account updates.
  • Security and moderation: detecting and preventing harmful behavior, spam, or harassment within the platform.
  • Service improvement: analyzing usage patterns in aggregate to improve features and user experience.
  • Legal compliance: fulfilling legal obligations applicable in the Republic of Indonesia.

We do not sell your personal data to advertisers or any third parties for their commercial interests.

Sharing Data with Third Parties

We only share your data with trusted third-party service providers necessary to deliver our services. These partners are contractually bound to process data only on our behalf and in accordance with this Privacy Policy:

  • Cloud infrastructure and database providers — for secure data storage, application hosting, and content delivery. All data is encrypted in transit and at rest.
  • SMS and communication providers — to send verification codes and service-related messages to your registered phone number.
  • Push notification and analytics services — to deliver alerts and monitor application stability and performance.
  • Identity verification partners — to perform automated face verification checks using photos from your selfie video. Biometric analysis results are not stored permanently.
  • Payment processors — to handle subscription and in-app purchase transactions securely.

All third-party partners are required to maintain strict data confidentiality and security standards, and may only process data according to our instructions.

We may also disclose data if required by applicable law, court order, or authorized government authority.

Data Security

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data:

  • Data encryption in transit using industry-standard protocols
  • Passwords stored as one-way hashes (never in plaintext)
  • Authentication using time-limited access tokens with secure refresh mechanisms
  • Database access restricted to authorized backend servers only
  • Verification videos stored as private assets — only accessible by authorized Parvela personnel
  • Rate limiting on sensitive endpoints to prevent brute force attacks

Nevertheless, no system is 100% secure. If you discover a security vulnerability, please report it to us at security@parvela.id.

Data Retention

We retain your data as long as your account is active. After account deletion:

  • Profile data, photos, and messages are permanently deleted within 30 days
  • Verification videos are deleted from our secure storage within 7 days of account deletion
  • Activity logs and analytics data are anonymized within 90 days
  • Data required for legal compliance or dispute resolution may be retained longer as required by applicable law

Your Rights

In accordance with the Personal Data Protection Law (PDP Law) of the Republic of Indonesia, you have the following rights:

  • Right of access: request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
  • Right of correction: request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data
  • Right of erasure: request deletion of your personal data ("right to be forgotten")
  • Right of restriction: request restriction of data processing under certain conditions
  • Right of portability: request your data in a machine-readable format
  • Right to object: object to data processing for direct marketing purposes
  • Right to withdraw consent: revoke consent given at any time

Cookies & Tracking Technologies

Parvela is a mobile app — we do not use browser cookies within the app. However, on this website (parvela.id) we use:

  • Essential cookies: required for basic site functionality (cannot be disabled)
  • Analytics cookies: to understand how visitors interact with the site (can be declined)

You can configure cookie preferences through your browser settings.

Children's Privacy

Parvela is intended for users aged 18 and above only. We do not knowingly collect data from individuals under 18.

If you become aware that a minor has created an account on Parvela, please contact us immediately at support@parvela.id and we will promptly delete the account.

International Data Transfer

Some of our service partners process data outside Indonesia. In every case, we ensure that:

  • Transfer is conducted with adequate protection according to international standards
  • Partner receiving the data is subject to equivalent confidentiality and security obligations
  • Data transferred is limited to the minimum necessary according to data minimization principles

Policy Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If material changes occur, we will:

  • Display an in-app notification at least 7 days before the changes take effect
  • Update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page
  • Send notification via email or push notification for significant changes

Use of the app after the effective date of the changes means you agree to the updated policy.
